“Stick to the things you really love. An honest room is always up to date.” – Billy Baldwin
When these homeowners originally purchased their “forever home,” they only intended to brighten the rooms of the historical house by painting the walls white. But what started out as a small project to freshen up the spaces soon turned into a larger renovation focused on creating a setting to showcase the things they love. Furnishings were chosen to compliment the couple’s contemporary art collection; the dining room’s Swedish cabinets display the wife’s treasured collection of Old Paris porcelain; the great room artfully incorporates a long held series of rare orange engravings. This project highlights the importance of designing spaces that create a sense of home through the use of an owner’s beloved collections and objects.
